My Secret to a Profitable Site!
This is the story of how I finally got a successful web business. I've received many comments from people about the site, so here's my story.......... I can't even begin to tell you how many hours I've spent searching, browsing, and wasting time looking for information. As a veterinarian and pet lover I was amazed at all the detailed current information I could find. New ways to treat pets, New methods to build my business, New ways to do everything and available to me in an instant.
A business... I wanted to get involved with this world wide web. The first step mean't building a website for my business, ( a veterinary clinic, www.nelsonvet.com). I spent lots of money, close to ten thousand dollars on a flashy website. The results.......No new clients from the site and a big expense ( 200 dollars a month) just to update it. As a result I didn't update it and let it sit in web nowhere land. Next.....E-commerce. In 1999 I started a pet supply store. E-commerce was all the rage. I imagined dominating the Canadian pet supply e-commerce stage with an evern bigger flashy website.. The site is still up and now owned by someone else at www.fourpawsonly.ca The Results......Twenty Thousand Dollars spent on A BIG FLASHY Website and NO TRAFFIC. So I payed for Traffic - 250 dollars a month.This translated into 2 sales per day after 12 months. After factoring in all costs I made ZERO! So I quit the Web World for 2 years.. But I couldn't let it go.......... I looked at my past mistakes. I spent hundreds of hours looking at everything I could find about starting and running an online business. There were 4 major areas I needed solved. 1.WEBSITE BUILDING for the Non- Techie..I needed to be able to build it myself without spending thousands of dollars on a web designer. 2.TRAFFIC ...
